How to Repair a Digital Photo Frame

Now, digital photo frames are a popular way to display and share your photos with family and friends. Digital photo frames come in sizes ranging from small desktop models to larger frames that can be mounted on a wall. Digital photo frames are not complex items; they contain a power coupling, a memory card reader, a processor that displays the photos, an LCD screen and frame holding everything in place. Once your digital photo frame doesn’t work, what should do?

A.Fix your digital photo frame
1.Examine the digital photo frame to determine the cause of the malfunction.
2.Insert the memory card into your computer to see if there are photos loaded on the card. If your card has no images, then there will be nothing for the frame to display.
3.Plug the power cord into a different wall outlet. If your frame is not turning on, it may be the outlet or power cord itself.
4.Unplug the digital photo frame from the wall and remove the back of the digital photo frame and inspect the wires that run from the power switch, the memory card reader, the processor and the LCD screen. If any of these wires are disconnected, use a soldering gun to re-attach them.
5.Insert the power cord into the digital photo frame, plug the cord into the wall outlet, turn your frame on and it should be ready to be used again.

B.Fill a Digital Photo Frame Screen
1.Crop your image by removing an inch from its top if your digital camera does not have an automatic cropping feature.
2.Transfer digital photographs from the camera's video card with the included USB cable. Transfer images from your cellular phone and personal computer using the same USB cable, as well, to display them on your best digital picture frame.
3.Select slide-show options from the "Settings" button within the thumbnails view. Slide or tap the "screen fit" or "fill" setting to highlight it. Tap "OK" or "Select." Follow the on-screen instructions to fill the entire screen with the displayed images.

How to Transfer Old Pictures to a Digital Frame

A digital picture frame enables you to store several--in some cases, hundreds--of photos on a drive. Digital picture frames can be set to shuffle through the stored pictures in order or randomly. You can also store old snapshots on digital frames with a couple of additional steps. Digital cameras represent a change in the status quo when it comes to taking pictures and displaying them. The inclusion of digital files into the photography world has given anyone with a computer the ability to edit and display his pictures. This can be accomplished by copying the images to external media, such as a memory card or USB drive, then inserting them into the frame. However, sometimes it may be necessary to edit the images so they display correctly.
Transfer old pictures to digital photo frame:
1.Use the scanner to scan the pictures that you want to transfer to a digital frame. Be sure to line the pictures up straight so that they will be aligned correctly in the digital frame.
2.Create a folder on your computer's hard drive in which you can store the scanned images. Save the scanned images to your computer, placing them in the folder that you created.
3.For digital frames that have internal memory built in, use a USB cable to connect the frame to the computer. Upload the scanned picture files from the computer to the digital frame's internal hard drive (memory). Disconnect the USB cable from the computer and frame after the transfer is complete.
4.If your digital frame uses a memory card (such as xD or SD), use a memory card reader. Connect the memory card reader to the computer's USB port. Insert the memory card into the card reader. Upload the scanned picture files to the memory card. Remove the memory card from the card reader, and insert it into the digital frame.
5.To add additional old pictures to the same digital frame later, repeat Steps 1 through 4 using the same storage device.
